Gardasil now available at Lakeshore Clinic

As of July 1, 2009 the Department of Health is no longer providing free HPV vaccine. In order to meet the demand for the vaccine and to make sure our patients receive all the required doses, Lakeshore Clinic is now carrying the vaccine.

The U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends the vaccine for girls 11 to 12 years old and the vaccine is approved for girls starting at age 9. It is also recommended for females ages 13 to 26 who did not receive it when they were younger. The best time for young women to get the vaccine is before they become sexually active. For the vaccine to work, it is very important that you receive all three shots. The second shot is given 2 months after the first shot. The last shot is given 4 months after the first dose or a minimum of 3 months after the second dose.

Health insurance may cover all or part of the vaccine. If you are unsure, please check with your insurance carrier as the cost of the vaccine is significant. We will bill your insurance company and you will be responsible for any portion that your insurance does not pay.

Feel free to call the clinic and make an appointment at your convenience. Please call 425-486-9131 to schedule your appointment.
